Alexandre Beaussart

Alexandre Beaussart makes violins, violas and cellos, reproducing the models of 18e Italian master.

Passionate about music and history, Alexandre began his professional education with a degree in Art History and Archeology at Lille University before directing his interest towards the manual practise of the arts that inspired him. In order to prepare his entry to the Ecole Internationale de lutherie in Mirecourt, he began to study cabinetmaking at in further education level, obtaining a professional diploma (CAP) at the Parisian Institut La Bonne Graine

In 2011, Alexandre began the Mirecourt course at the Lycée Jean-Baptiste Villaume. He obtained his diplôme des métiers d’arts (DMA) in 2014.

Experience

Research, sound and settings

His professional experience within the Philippe Mitéran workshop and the differents internships all around France have allowed him to consolidate this techniques, to perfect his ear and the art of settings, but also to create his first instruments whilst refining his craftsmanship.

Thoughout his work and interest for certain trends like italian instrument making, he continues to develop his own ideal with an eye to antique methods.

In 2019 he opened his workshop in Vincennes with Audrey Goepp with whom he can now combine enthusiasm for both new and old instruments.
